The football icon was bestowed with a knighthood at the historic royal residence on the weekday. The ex-national team leader, 50, was one of the individuals accepting honours for his services to sport and philanthropy. Earlier this year, he stated he was โ€œimmensely proudโ€ of being recognised in the monarch's annual honors list.

Beckham made his Premier League debut for the Red Devils in 1995 and was part of the team that secured a dramatic Champions League final victory in the late nineties when they beat Bayern Munich with two late goals.

Overall, he netted eighty-five scores and garnered accolades including multiple English championships and two FA Cups as a footballer, before ending his playing career in 2013. In addition to his sports endeavors, he has supported a variety of philanthropic initiatives, including serving as a charitable representative for global aid group the United Nations Children's Fund since 2005.

Beckham tied the knot with Victoria in 1999 and the pair have a family of four kids together โ€“ their eldest, Romeo, the third child, and Harper.
