The Olympic champion concluded her 800m campaign with a triumph at the all-female Athlos meet in New York on Friday night.
{The reigning Olympic gold medallist, who earned bronze at the World Championships last month, dominated an outstanding win in one minute 56.53 seconds in what was only her sixth race in a year impacted by a muscle issue.
Compatriot and world silver medallist Georgia Hunter Bell took the runner-up spot again in 1:58.33, while the athlete from St Vincent Shafiqua Maloney (one minute 58.57) secured third place.
"I haven't competed much this season so it was likely less of a struggle for me to go out there and want to give it something," stated Hodgkinson.
"The atmosphere at the event is incredible so it was really, really fun."
The female-exclusive meet filled the stadium in its second edition, bringing a festive vibe to traditional track, with musical performances and Tiffany & Co. crowns replacing traditional winners' medals.
The tennis legend with 23 major titles Serena W., who is wed to Athlos founder Alexis Ohanian, was present to present the winners with their tiaras.
Last year's winners received sixty thousand dollars (ยฃ44,603) - among the biggest cash prizes in athletics.
The event also attracted several top athletes, as Kenya's three-time Olympic gold medallist and world record holder Faith K. triumphed in the mile race, crossing the finish line in 4:17.78.
The US Brittany Brown, the 200m bronze winner from last year's Paris Olympics, won the 100m and 200m double.
